CDD is a non-profit community-based organization that supports
individuals with developmental disABILITIES in their own homes
throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area. We have been doing
this for over 50 years with the goal of adding 50+ more in our
sight. Speaking of goals, CDD offers incentives based on meeting
agency-wide goals as well as differentials for homes that are
behavioral, high medical needs, and for shifts that occur on
Saturday and Sunday.

Summary/Objective
Functions as the "case coordinator" of the Day Program to
facilitate the programmatic processes dealing with habilitation
services delivery. Responsible for supervising staff, program
orientation, and the maintenance of Day Program Services as
prescribed by the Annual Plan and "person centered principles".
Oversees the physical facility operations managing and maintaining
the day program to provide a comfortable, safe, clean, and orderly
habilitative environment. The PALS U DDP assumes the role of HIPAA
Privacy Officer for individuals attending the Day Program.
Participates with management team in decisions regarding agency
program and supportive operations. Schedules staff, consultants,
transportation, service-related events, and communicates with
EITAS, KCRO and other TCM entities. Ensures staff compliance with
agency policy. Assists in the hiring, training, and evaluating of
direct care staff. Supervises/monitors service delivery and related
documentation regarding all day program records. Directly
supervised and evaluated by the Director of Day Services.

Program Management
Implements and monitors individualized services based on person
centered principles; and oversees Person Center Plan (PCP)
implementation and documentation
Ensures ISP Data is reviewed and tracked daily, following Director
of Day Services directives
Attends Annual PCP meetings and provides input as needed
Provides oversight to ensure medical treatment for illnesses or
injuries in a timely manner
Scans Medical Information into Setworks and submits it to Quality
Enhancement Specialist for monthly reviews, as applicable
Ensures all medication changes are clearly documented in Therap
on-line records, and on Physician Orders and MAR
Sets up MAR and checks daily for accuracy, keeping all staff, the
pharmacy, and administrative office and KCRO or EITAS informed of
changes, if applicable
Facilitates monthly program meetings
Serves as the contact person for relaying programmatic information
to the Director of Day Services
Collects required documentation of relevant sections of monthly
managers' report, e.g., emergency drills, advisory committee
meeting minutes, vehicle use and maintenance records etc. and
primarily responsible for submitting Managers Reports as directed
by the Director of Day Services
Reviews, and submits event reports to KCRO, EMT E-Mail, Service
Coordinators and Director of Day Services (if applicable) -
including follow up needed as directed by KCRO.
Provide resolution to Programming QE Directives
Provide resolution to QES for Programming APTS
Requests petty cash funds; orders and purchases supplies; replaces
worn items and appliances, ensuring adequate supplies are available
to operate the Day Program facility;
Makes adjustments in Day Program and Nonresidential Services budget
and spending as directed by the Chief Program Officer or Executive
Director
Staff Supervision & Development
Supervises and schedules sufficient staff to maintain required
staffing ratios
Communicates with Nonresidential Services direct service staff
daily to provide consistency in addressing day program attendee
needs and the overall running of the day program
Coordinates talent development
Is familiar with DMH regulations and develops training services
within those guidelines, and provides in-service training as
required
Provides one on one training with Employment Specialist and PALS U
Aides as needed
Disciplines PALS U Employment Specialist and PALS U Aides,
following the guidelines of CDD Policy and Procedure
Process staff occurrences (absence and instances of tardiness)
Documents staff attendance and leave time; reviews Paycor for
accuracy and approved hours worked. Ensures Paycor time keeping is
accurate and submit to Payroll following CDD payroll timelines.
Completes Employment Specialist PALS U Aides performance
reviews
Supervises and supports program staff in behavior management,
crisis intervention, behavioral counseling, along with monitoring
the protection of resident's rights
Facilities Management
Schedules maintenance and oversees the site implementation of the
agency's Physical Facilities and Safety Policy; inspects all areas
of the facility daily, maintaining adequate housecleaning
standards, and notifying administrative office of needed
maintenance and repairs
Ensures all safety drills (fire, severe weather, etc.) occur
according to policy
Ensures safe and continuous operations of assigned vehicles, e.g.,
schedules maintenance and repairs as needed, reports needed
repairs, accidents, and traffic violations
Schedules vans for transportation needs
Other Duties
Alters personal schedule when needed to manage all program
operations
Attends meetings and in-service training as scheduled
Maintains effective working relationship with supervisor and
peers
Provides companionship, community integration, emotional support,
crisis intervention and behavioral counseling to individuals
Maintain effective working relationships with volunteer and
community-based sites.

Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and type in English
Valid Missouri Class E Chauffeur's License or Kansas Class C
license
Supervisory Responsibility
Directly supervises PALS U Aides and Employment Specialist.
Work Environment
This job operates in a Day Program facility, community and/or
Administrative Office setting and includes frequent community
outings, with exposure to high levels of noise, human elements such
as (blood, urine, etc.); frequent interruptions and fast paced
working conditions. In this role standard office equipment such as
computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
are routinely used. Office space utilizes two floors requiring
navigating stairs.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, climb
or bend. The employee must constantly lift and/or move up to 10
pounds, frequently lift and/or move 20 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 50 pounds. Also requires stepping up into
commercial passenger vans as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with core hours of work from
8:30am-5:00pm. This position may require "after" hours work as well
as some weekend work based on client need.
Travel
Travel will be throughout the metropolitan area with the
possibility of occasional travel outside the metro area as business
dictates using your personal vehicle or agency vehicle.
Required Education and/or Experience
High school diploma and a minimum of one year experience with
persons with developmental disabilities.
Preferred Education and Experience
Degree in education, rehabilitation, or closely related field; one
or more years of direct service experience with persons with DD,
two years of program management and staff supervisory
experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Has at least one year's supervisory experience.
